The Bandon Road Upgrade is a major infrastructure project located in Vineyard within Sydney’s rapidly growing North West Growth Area. The project aims to improve road capacity, safety, connectivity, and flood resilience while supporting future residential and employment growth across the region.
The upgrade will be delivered in stages, with early works including the construction of a new commuter car park at Vineyard Train Station, a new bus stop, and various intersection and road safety improvements.
The main works will include:
- Widening Bandon Road to a dual carriageway between Richmond Road and Windsor Road.
- Construction of a central median to accommodate a future expansion to six lanes.
- A shared pedestrian and cycle path along the corridor.
- A grade-separated crossing of the Richmond railway line at Vineyard to improve traffic flow and safety.
Upgraded and signalized intersections at key locations. - A new pedestrian bridge connecting Riverstone Parade and Wallace Road.
- Upgrades and realignment of Wallace Road, including improvements to the designated flood evacuation route.
- Upgrades to the Bandon Road flood evacuation route between the realigned Wallace Road and Windsor Road.
- Construction of a new Southern Connection Road, including associated flood evacuation route improvements.
