The Belhaven Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a proposed 400 MW / 3,985 MWh utility-scale battery facility located near Gregadoo, 7 kilometres south of Wagga Wagga, NSW. Developed by Vena Energy, the project is currently in the "Prepare EIS" phase as a State Significant Development. It is designed to connect to the nearby 330 kV TransGrid substation, utilizing a negotiated 15-metre-wide infrastructure easement through the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre. Vena Energy targets lodging its formal Development Application by Q2 2026, with physical construction projected to begin by Q2/Q3 2027 pending final state approvals.
