The Booroolong Wind Farm, proposed by Squadron Energy, is a renewable energy project located near Armidale within the New England Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). The project will have a total generating capacity of up to 426 megawatts (MW) and includes associated energy storage and transmission infrastructure.
The project comprises:
- Up to 71 wind turbines with a combined generating capacity of 426 MW
- A 150 MW / 600 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- Approximately 22 kilometres of high-voltage transmission lines
- Up to three substations
- Associated ancillary infrastructure required for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the project
