The Central Precinct Renewal Program is a major urban renewal initiative led by Transport for NSW to transform approximately 24 hectares of land in and around Sydney’s Central Station into a mixed-use precinct that supports housing, employment, public space and improved connectivity. Key factors include the delivery of around 950 homes with 30% designated as affordable housing, capacity for approximately 2,400 jobs, 13,500 square metres of new open space, improved pedestrian connections between surrounding neighbourhoods, and integration with the broader Tech Central innovation district. The program is intended to enhance Central Station’s role as a major transport interchange while creating new opportunities for housing, business, public amenity and investment in Sydney’s CBD.
