Coppabella Wind Farm, formerly known as the Yass Valley Wind Farm, is a proposed renewable energy project comprising a 289 MW wind farm with up to 75 turbines, located approximately 35 kilometres west of Yass, in the Yass Valley region of New South Wales.

The project includes the construction and operation of the following key components:

  • A wind farm consisting of up to 75 wind turbines and associated infrastructure.
  • Installation of turbine foundations, hardstands, access tracks, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Installation of generator transformers.
  • A decentralised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) comprising up to 53 co-located 20 MW / 80 MWh units, providing a combined storage capacity of up to 1 GW / 4 GWh.
  • Installation of 33 kV, 132 kV and 330 kV electrical transmission infrastructure, including both underground cabling and overhead transmission lines.
  • Construction of up to three substations to support grid connection and power transmission.

Construction of the wind farm will be managed by Goldwind Australia.
