ACEN Australia is proposing the Deeargee Solar and Battery Project, a large-scale renewable energy development comprising a solar photovoltaic (PV) generation facility, a battery energy storage system (BESS), and associated supporting infrastructure.
The project is located approximately 12 kilometres south-east of Uralla within the New England Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). It is proposed to connect to new transmission infrastructure being delivered by EnergyCo as part of the REZ network.
Key components of the project include:
A solar farm with an installed generating capacity of up to 320 megawatts (MW).
A utility-scale battery energy storage system with a capacity of up to 1,400 MW / 2,800 megawatt-hours (MWh).
