The Gundary Solar Farm, proposed by Lightsource BP, is a large-scale renewable energy development comprising a 400 MW solar farm and a 555 MW / 1,570 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project is proposed to be located on approximately 708 hectares of land at Gundary, New South Wales, and is intended to contribute significant renewable generation and energy storage capacity to the state's electricity network.
Key components of the project include:
- A 400 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility comprising approximately 740,000 solar panels and associated infrastructure.
- A 555 MW / 1,570 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to store and dispatch renewable energy as required by the grid.
- An onsite substation to facilitate connection to the electricity network.
- A network of inverters and voltage step-up transformers for energy conversion and transmission.
- A dedicated switchyard and associated electrical infrastructure
