Narrabri to North Star Phase 2 is the final remaining component of the Inland Rail section between Narrabri and North Star in north-west NSW. The project includes upgrading approximately 12 to 15 kilometres of existing rail infrastructure across the Gwydir floodplain near Moree, constructing approximately 1.6 kilometres of new track to bypass the Camurra Hairpin, and building a new spur connection to the Weemelah line. The works are designed to improve freight efficiency, enable double-stacked freight services, improve network resilience and support the broader Melbourne-to-Brisbane Inland Rail corridor.
