Jindera Solar Farm is a 120 MW solar generation project located north of Jindera in the Greater Hume Shire, developed by Lightsource bp through its project entity Jindera Solar Farm Pty Ltd. The project received Development Consent in 2020 and includes a co‑located battery energy storage system. A major modification is now underway to replace the originally approved 30 MW / 60 MWh battery with a significantly larger 200 MW system, reflecting updated market and grid requirements.
The project is currently in the planning modification stage, with environmental and technical assessments being updated for submission to the NSW Department of Planning. Construction has not yet commenced, but the project remains active, with Lightsource bp continuing community engagement and targeting a construction start around 2027, subject to approval of the modification and final investment decision.
