Lake Lyell Pumped Hydro Energy Storage

Lake Lyell Pumped Hydro is a proposed pumped hydro energy storage project near Lithgow, NSW, being developed by EnergyAustralia and EDF Power Solutions Australia. The project would use Lake Lyell as the lower reservoir and a new upper reservoir on Mount Walker to deliver up to 440 MW of dispatchable generation and energy storage capacity. The project is intended to support renewable energy integration, improve grid reliability, and provide long-duration storage for the National Electricity Market.
