The Mangoplah Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a proposed standalone energy storage facility approximately 3 km east of Mangoplah, near Wagga Wagga. Samsung C&T Renewable Energy Australia (SREA) is proposing a 100MW / 400MWh battery system with associated substations, transmission connection infrastructure, access roads, operations facilities and supporting services. The project is intended to store electricity during periods of lower demand and dispatch power during peak demand periods, helping improve grid stability and supporting the transition to renewable energy.
