Picton Bypass

The Picton Bypass is a proposed new arterial road designed to divert through traffic and heavy vehicles away from Picton town centre. The bypass would provide an alternative route connecting Thirlmere and Tahmoor to the Hume Motorway via Picton Road. Key objectives include reducing congestion in Picton, improving road safety, improving travel reliability, supporting regional growth, and providing a more resilient transport connection during emergencies such as bushfires and floods. A preferred corridor has previously been identified and planning is now progressing toward concept design and environmental approvals.
