The Picton Road Upgrade Program involves upgrading approximately 30 kilometres of Picton Road between the Nepean River and the M1 Princes Motorway, including the M31 Hume Motorway and M1 Princes Motorway interchanges. The corridor is a critical freight connection between Greater Sydney, Port Kembla and the Illawarra-Shoalhaven region. The program aims to improve safety, freight efficiency, journey reliability, connectivity and network resilience while supporting significant population growth in the Wilton and Greater Macarthur areas. The program has been divided into western, central and eastern sections to enable staged development and delivery.
