The Sundown Solar Farm is a large-scale renewable energy project proposed for Spring Mountain in the New England Renewable Energy Zone of northern New South Wales. Developed by Recurrent Energy, the project comprises a 360 MW solar photovoltaic facility integrated with a 150 MW / 600 MWh battery energy storage system, designed to generate clean electricity, enhance grid reliability, and support Australia's transition to a lower-carbon energy system. The development includes approximately 660,000 solar panels, a battery energy storage system, onsite electrical infrastructure, and a connection to the existing 330 kV transmission network, while also allowing for continued agricultural activities such as sheep grazing across parts of the site.
