The Wattle Creek Energy Hub is a proposed large-scale renewable energy project located at Arthursleigh, New South Wales, on land owned by the University of Sydney.
The project will comprise:
- A 265 MW solar farm featuring approximately 490,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules.
- An 800 MW / 1,600 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to provide large-scale energy storage and support grid reliability.
In addition to its renewable energy generation and storage infrastructure, the development will incorporate a dedicated research and innovation facility. This facility will support the testing and development of new and emerging energy technologies, creating opportunities for research, collaboration, and industry advancement.
The Wattle Creek Energy Hub is expected to play an important role in supporting Australia's transition to a cleaner energy future while fostering innovation in renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
