Whitehaven Solar Farm is a proposed solar energy project by Whitehaven Energy Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Whitehaven Coal Limited, located adjacent to the existing Narrabri Mine, approximately 25 km south-east of Narrabri in New South Wales. The project comprises a solar photovoltaic generating facility with a capacity of 20 MW AC (approximately 26 MW DC) and a proposed 10 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The solar farm is designed as a behind-the-meter electricity supply project that would connect to the existing 66 kV electricity transmission line and supply electricity directly to the Narrabri Mine rather than exporting power to the grid.
