Wilan Wind Farm is a proposed wind energy project by Kilara Energy located near Balranald in south-west New South Wales within the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). The project comprises up to 138 wind turbines with a proposed generating capacity of up to 800 MW, energy storage, and associated infrastructure. Project information published by the proponent states the project is located across approximately 16,000 hectares of pastoral land used for sheep and cattle grazing, approximately 25 km east of Balranald, 40 km north of Moulamein, and 80 km west of Hay. The proposal includes a 200 MW / 800 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and a connection to Project EnergyConnect.
